So I have finally finished my journey, I'm super stoked actually that I got the chance to try out this lifestyle, though I don’t think I'm going to continue this lifestyle of being a vegetarian or vegan, I surprisingly enjoyed the experience. Despite the challenges I managed to keep up and stick to my journey of the past two weeks, besides for the very last day of it all, Friday. I will admit Friday was not my finest moment, or moments, I cracked, and then finally completely broke my vegan vow, however, remained vegetarian. This has been the most challenging thing I have yet had to do in my life; I actually have found also I can have extreme restraint when I put a challenge to myself. It made me really understand that if I have a goal I want to reach, it’s more likely for me to try to reach it or achieve I should bet myself into doing it and finishing it. I have found that I could probably live as a vegetarian but unfortunately I just happen to like eating meat too much. I have tremendous respect for those who choose to live their lives as vegetarians and vegans, it is a huge commitment and challenge, and it has made me think differently of what i consume. I encourage people to live this way, if not just try it and feel the experience as I have.Meat Lover to Veggie Lover to.. well, Vegan

I decided that becoming a vegetarian was a missed steak.

What did the lettuce say to the celery? -Are you stalking me?
So this has been my life pretty much all week....
I have one more full day of being a vegan, and i cant help but be excited. I almost broke today, true story, but luckily i just kept in my head that i have one more day. I never thought i would crave little things, like right now i can feel my mouth salvating for a cecar salad, I just want something. But no, today I had grapes applesauce, a bannana, prezels, and well thats it. Although this experience has been super hard Im still super glad im doing it because i feel better knowing that my choice to be vegetarian and vegan the past two weeks was worth it, to help little animals everywhere.

Why did the tomato blush? -Because he saw the salad dessing
It was a sad momment indeed.
Yesturday was the end of my safety net, the last day to ONLY avoid meat, and the begining of avoiding well, basicly every food group.
I started my monday morning off with grocery shopping with my mom to begin this vegan life style for the duration of this week, and it was the most frustrating experience. Turns out nearly everything I eat has the ingredients of animal or animal products, and even "I cant believe its not butter" has dairy products in it, the same as butter? After an hour still at the store I was left roaming the isel ways, I went from canned goods, to chips, to frozen food, and continued pushing my cart full of barely anything. I was also shocked to find how much more the cost of vegan choice food is. Luckily however, I did find a few things which made feel excited yet fearful to try. Reflecting on my trip in search of vegan approved meals and snacks I have learned that its good to try something different regaurdless of your prejudgments, because who knows maybe you'll discover you like the substitute, I did.
Tonight i made an all vegan meal for my mom and I, and it was pretty darn good if I do say so myself. I made: vegan burgers with vegan bread and Vegenaise as a mayo substitute, with your regulare ketchup and mustard toped with vegan cheese melted on top; fresh steamed brocoli sprinkled with sea salt; and vegetarian baked beans; and a balsomic salad with dried cranberries and choped almonds to top it all off.Vegan or not, it was a very healthy and scrumsious choice for a meal.

Why is lettuce the most loving vegetable? - Because its all heart
I never thought I would say this, but I no longer want to eat macaroni. Pasta is my favorite food... As of now I can’t stand the idea of eating it for another day. IM RUNNING OUT OF OPTIONS! No but seriously pasta isn’t the only thing I have over used and over eaten, my new diet is drying my taste buds to boredom. I had to order a burrito from chipotle the other day, as I gazed into the delicious section of meat of carne, chicken, and steak, I had had to say no thank you no meat. My burrito might as well been a salad wrapped in a tortilla. If I had wanted a salad I wouldn’t have went to Chipotle, I would have gone to the lotus cafe or something. Oh but that’s right, I went to Chipotle. I wanted to eat KFC today as I caught a glimpse of that commercial red box tossed in the road of my small high school parking lot. But in that moment as I was craving fried chicken in little crunchy bite size pieces I pictured something like this...
Good news is my mom is bringing home tofu for dinner… Gee I sure do love tofu…
So I was thinking in the spirit of Valentine’s Day tomorrow, save a family of animals their loved ones and just eat chocolate… all day. I know I will be...

Why did the tofu cross the road? - To prove he wasn't chicken.

I started my adventure of being a vegetarian this weekend on Saturday feb.9, and I have come to find that just in the few days it has been, it is and will continue to be a tremendous challenge for me. I find myself having to keep reminding my stomach I’m a vegetarian and my options of food have shrunk significantly. It sure doesn’t help when my mother asks if I want a burger for dinner from in n' out, because I can’t, but can only reluctantly reply no mom I’m a vegetarian remember? As I’m not the only person that keeps forgetting my new found dieting habits and limitations. I can barely picture next week, were I can no longer fall back on my favorite foods where meat is lacking. I will desperately miss mac n' cheese, cereal, and even butter for my morning toast. However I have been doing some research on where all my favorite products and food come from, leaving me with strength to resist the temptations with my new acquired knowledge. The information I have found has left me shocked and horrified that any person could treat animals in the way that they do just to make a product and profit from them. It would disgust people to hear of kittens and puppies being bred in crates where they cannot stand or even turn around in just to be killed after there of no use, or that their meat is all that’s needed, in which case that would be their use. Why it that cows and pigs aren’t held to the same equality as those of our household pets that we name and love, don’t farm animals deserve the same? Who are humans to deem what animal deserves rights and to be protected, and those to be ignored and shown a blind eye too. Humans have this sense of entitlement of the world, that we are somehow superior beings and that everything belongs to us, but reality nothing does. With my new prospective, my eating habits seem rather small in the grand scheme of things, but hopefully I can help make a change within my two week challenge and maybe even after. I believe we are as equal to grass that is grown and as equal to the animals that roam it.

Why don't chickens like people? Because they beat eggs!
I love animals as much as anyone does, but unfortunately that doesn't stop me from eating them. You name it, and I eat it. But lately the thoughts of little animal faces cross my mind when I find myself taking a bite of my double bacon cheeseburger, and well, the animals are really cute. It has never once crossed my mind to become or think about becoming a vegetarian let alone a vegan, let’s be honest here, I enjoy food too much. I have decided to take a brave consideration to try a new adventure to do both these things, transcending myself from your average meat lover to a veggie lover and then to finally a full blown vegan. Over the course of the next two weeks I will change my life style completely to its opposite, for the starting week I will begin my drastic journey becoming a vegetarian, and transition into the second week being a full fledge vegan. I hope to gain a better prospective from vegan and vegetarian lifestyle that so many have dedicated their life to commit to. I also want to learn more about the process of packaging animal products and shed some light on the truth behind the life of animal from crate to plate.
